PUTRAJAYA, 24 September 2026 — The inaugural meeting of the National Public Health Medicine Specialist Advisory Committee (Jawatankuasa Penasihat Kepakaran Perubatan Kesihatan Awam Kebangsaan) was held at the Stegomyia Meeting Room, Complex E, Putrajaya.
The committee was initiated and organised by Dr Ismuni bin Bohari, Deputy Director-General of Health (Public Health), Ministry of Health Malaysia, who also chaired the inaugural meeting.
The College of Public Health Medicine (CPHM) was represented by its President, YBrs. Dato’ Indera Dr Sha’ari Ngadiman. CPHM participated alongside representatives from key Ministry of Health divisions and public health medicine subspecialties, professional organisations, the Malaysian Armed Forces and public universities.
The meeting provided a national platform to discuss the future direction of public health medicine and important issues affecting the specialty. Its broad representation supports closer coordination among policymakers, practitioners, professional bodies and academic institutions.
The formation of the committee marks an important milestone in establishing a structured national advisory platform for public health medicine. CPHM looks forward to contributing its professional expertise to the committee and supporting the continued advancement of the specialty and Malaysia’s public health system.
