Dr. Ismuni began his medical journey with a Doctor of Medicine from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 1998. His commitment to public health led him to Universiti Malaya, where he completed a Master of Public Health and subsequently a Master of Public Health in Health Services Management in 2003 and 2006, respectively. These academic achievements laid the groundwork for his impactful leadership across multiple levels of the healthcare system.

Dr. Ismuni’s career spans several key leadership roles:
- Quality and Standards Unit, MOH: Contributed to national public health service improvement.
- Director, Labuan Health Office: Implemented community health initiatives and earned recognition with prestigious awards such as the Commissioner General Medal and Tokoh Maal Hijrah Frontliner.
- Director, Perlis and Kedah State Health Departments: Oversaw strategic enhancements to state-level healthcare services and outcomes.
