The 2019 unabated unrest that has shaken Hong Kong since the last 6 months resulted in the Academy not able to realize the Tripartite Congress planned much earlier. The event proceeded with ‘Hong Kong Academy of Medicine Conference & Hong Kong Primary Care Conference 2019’ from 6th to 8th December at the Academy building. As a symbol of support and to strengthen ties in Public Health medicine, the CPHM representatives continued participation after consultation with Wisma Putra. The conference featured plenary lectures, concurrent talks, workshops, and poster presentations around the main theme, “People-centred Care: Towards Value-based Innovations”. The College President, Dato’ Dr Indera Dr Shaari Ngadiman presented a paper “Expanding to Triple Elimination of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV, syphilis and Hepatitis B”. Other council members attended were Dr. Tahir Aris, Dr. Anita Suleiman, Dr. Ahmad Faudzi Yusof and Prof. Dr. Victor Hoe.
